  30. Right.  This spam was sent to every newsgroup on the planet, but of
  31. course only showed up in unmoderated groups like this one (as far as I
  32. know); each posting with a unique subject line.  It's the price of
  33. having an open forum.

  35. Readers should be aware that the posting could just as easily have
  36. done something really bad, and ERA's advice is right on: be careful
  37. what you use to read news and email, and for that matter what Web
  38. pages you visit, and what features you have enabled in your desktop
  39. tools.
